As the days get lighter and longer, what better way to brighten up your Spring wardrobe than with a few ideas fresh from the catwalks? Here are four major styles from London Fashion Week SS19, shown on the runways last September, that you can easily work into your look using Become’s menopause clothing as the perfect base. Plus, you’ll have the added benefit of feeling cool, fresh and dry whether you’re busy at your desk or dashing around town.

Neutrals

The neutral style isn’t necessarily a new trend, but it’s an enduring one. No longer boring or drab, beige is a signature hue for Burberry, whose models wore co-ordinated outfits from head to toe, including the classic trench. Max Mara and Tom Ford also included shades of coffee and oatmeal in their Spring collections. Here at Become, our biscuit colour is one of our most popular shades and we offer anti-flush camisolesshort-sleeved and long-sleeved t-shirts, as well as our best-selling vest tops in the hugely versatile shade. If it’s a stylish all over beige you’re after, try wearing a stone-coloured jacket over your biscuit Become t-shirt, paired with chino trousers. But beige is also great to combine with so many colours, from classic black and navy to bright orange or light blue. Jazz it up with some contrasting accessories. Whichever look you go for, you’re sure to exude natural style.

Athleisure

It seems that the athleisure trend is here to stay for another season. Activewear graced the catwalks at Preen, Prada and Margaret Howell in the form of sporty jackets, plimsolls, cycling shorts and even shell suits! It’s not surprising, as this trend can work in so many different ways – it’s easy to  dress it up or down whatever the occasion. Athleisure is perfect weekend wear. For a cool and casual look, try a pair of Black Become leggings with a white vest top and a cosy long-length cardigan, plus comfy trainers. If you’re looking for something smarter, which will take you from desk to an evening out, pop a silk shirt over the vest, swap the cardigan for a jacket and add statement boots. And don’t forget accessories – try a padded cross-body bag or leather rucksack and you’ll feel ready for anything.

Neons

Bright colours hit catwalks everywhere during London Fashion Week. Retro neon shades lit up the runways, with sherbet yellows and acid greens ruling at shows by Jasper Conran, Emilia Wickstead and House of Holland. Some models even took to the catwalks with shocking pink hair. If an 80s-inspired shade of fluorescent orange is one step too far, a great compromise is bright pink. It’s a truly versatile colour that will brighten up any rainy day. Become’s vest tops come in a beautiful shade of cerise pink, a passing nod to the 80s that’s also totally appropriate for wearing to work or out for the weekend. Pink looks fantastic with denim – for an easy everyday outfit, wear one of our pink Become vest tops with your favourite jeans and a soft knitted cardigan. Alternatively, wear as a pop of colour with a classic navy or black trouser suit for work. Bright pink can also look fantastic paired with an unlikely colour companion – try orange and pink for a fashion-forward finish.

Monochrome

Magical monochrome can come in the form of many guises this Spring – black and white checks, stripes or even a full head-to-toe monochrome outfit. White was a particularly popular choice at London shows, with Victoria Beckham kicking of her collection with stark white tailoring. Black, a tone usually synonymous with the fall, also made it’s made its way into many collections with models dressed head to toe in black making for a dramatic look. Erdem also featured delicate black and white lace dresses. It’s no surprise given how easy it is to dress in black and white – for a classic and fuss-free finish, some smart black trousers with a simple white Become vest top will have you looking impeccably on trend every time. Alternatively, an all-black outfit comprising an elegant long-sleeved Become t-shirt, smart fitted trousers and a statement black jacket will never be out of fashion.

  • I wouldn’t imagine that any of these models suffer from menopausal symptoms – can we please have models who reflect ‘real, older type women’, who are not stick thin or skinny. That way we have a much better idea of a)
How these clothes look on the fuller figure and) what the colour shades look like on an older skin. Thank you
